I know I don’t eat well. I am embarrassed for someone to review my diet and see how bad I eat.

There are so many reasons why we may crave or consume junk food and other unhealthy foods. It may be for emotional reasons or convenience, due to financial, hormonal, or biochemical factors, or it might even be because of pathogens in our gut that may cause us to eat a certain way. We don’t judge. Our role is to help relieve your symptoms to help you feel better and achieve your health goals.

I can’t afford to eat healthy.

Many of our clients struggle with budget restrictions. Our clinicians can teach you strategies to purchase healthy foods without going over your budget.

I don’t have the time or the energy to make a whole bunch of changes to my diet!

Don’t worry! Most of us struggle with having enough time and energy to spend in the kitchen. We consider your current situation and provide strategies that match your abilities and time constraints. We have combined decades of experience in preparing quick and nutritious meals or healthy foods for on-the-go… and we are eager to share! You just might find you are spending less time in the kitchen than you did previously.

    I already eat healthy.

Many people believe they eat a generally healthy diet. Even if that applies to you… you must be considering nutritional counselling for a reason!

In practice, we often find individuals are not eating enough variety, or that adding specific foods could support their individual health or recovery. Plus, many people are consuming foods that can contribute to their current symptoms without even realizing it! By working with a Nutritionist or Dietitian, you have an expert in your corner to help develop the best dietary plan for your unique health conditions, symptoms and goals.

I am nervous to have someone turning my diet upside down, it is to overwhelming.

We work with you, at your pace, to ensure long-term success. To optimize your nutrition and function we help to ensure that any dietary changes are realistic and sustainable. We do not just provide you a plan, but work together with you to create a carefully thought out, individualized nutrition strategy that works for you and your family.

I don’t want to give up all the foods and beverages that I enjoy.

Our clinicians meet you where you are at in terms of comfort level with making changes. That said, many individuals find they enjoy dietary changes more than they believed they could, especially when they start noticing improvements in energy levels, mood and other symptoms.

Are your nutrition services covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefits plans cover dietitians and nutritionists. It is best to check your specific benefit plan coverage before selecting a service, as some plans will only cover a dietitian and not a nutritionist and vice versa. Blue Cross covers dietitian’s services as well.
